Android Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
  • Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year software development experience
  • Have published at least one original Android app
  • Experience with Android SDK
  • Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
  • Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
  • Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
  • Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.

 

iOS Developer

Responsibilities

  • Design and build applications for the iOS platform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Work with outside data sources and API’s
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
  • Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

  • Ability to present technical ideas and high-level concepts and solutions to internal and external team members with varying degrees of technical knowledge
  • Experience using RESTful APIs to integrate mobile applications to server side systems
  • Understanding of performance testing and optimization techniques
  • Demonstrated knowledge of major frameworks (Cocoa Touch, Core Services, and Core OS)
  • Familiarity and understanding of Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines
  • Understanding of recommended design patterns and architectures
  • Knowledge of iOS 7 features and differences from prior versions
  • High proficiency with development tools and workflows (modern source control systems, unit testing, continuous workflow, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret requirements to produce a design that conforms to specifications
  • Experience with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Other mobile development experience is a plus (Android, HTML5/CSS/JavaScript)

 

Social Media and Marketing Intern

Responsibilities

  • Utilize word of mouth marketing, Internet marketing, and Internet marketing techniques to increase traffic and brand awareness
  • Leverage social networks to strengthen relationships with potential customers
  • Utilize Blogging, SEO, social networking, and link building to increase our web presence and placement
  • Assist in planning, writing and managing e-newsletters
  • Assist in planning, writing and pitching news releases, media alerts and other stories
  • Collaborate with staff on new ideas, directions, and tools for marketing and communications
  • Other Marketing activities as assigned by manager
  • This role is part time and requires 10 – 15 hrs a week and is not a paid role

Requirements

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Solid understanding of the internet and social media channels – Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram etc.
  • Ability to proofread and edit
  • Ability to contribute individually, and participate in cross-functional teams
  • Be creative with an eye for design
  • Must live in the Chicago Area (local applicants only)

Business Development Intern: 

Responsibilities

  • The Intern will complete projects to assist in developing sales and marketing activities. 
  • May be expected to meet a quota & do any prospecting/cold calling activities.
  • Create a business development plan and prospective client pitch documents
  • Meet with prospective clients
  • Work with developers and others on the team
  • This role requires 15-25 hrs a week

  • General tech and internet savvy is required in order to be successful
  • Superior organization, attention to detail, and communication skills
  • Must live in the Chicago Area (local applicants only)
  • This is not a paid role for first 3 month, but will be paid on commission for clients the individual brings
